The brief: look again at the layout. The living room and kitchen had to be able to close off, and at the table they did not want to hear the seating area.

A large family and a busy social life. Everyone needed a place of their own, and those places had to flow into one another.

One more thorough renovation, and then a house that suits how they live now. That was the brief.

Luxury here comes not from excess but from coherence. Everything turns on one element.

A house stripped back from top to bottom. We took on the ground floor.

The brief was short: make it warm and intimate. In a house of large rooms that is harder than it sounds.

“We would like connection in our interior.” That was the whole brief, and the diagnosis was already in it.

“We would like to see it.” The clients were unsure whether what they wanted was even possible.

Colours that return in different materials. That is how you connect elements without making them the same.

For these clients in Friesland we designed the entrance, the office and the kitchen.
